You have got to be kidding me!

I was talking with a friend a while back on the "political issue" regarding life (pro-life vs. pro-choice). My friend and I both profess to be Christians. "Christian" being defined as a believer in and follower of Christ. Anyways, we got to talking about how the new administration of this country is decidedly pro-choice and how we disagreed with that. Fine, it is what it is. Then we started sharing how some Christian people we know are pro-choice and how confused we were to learn this. We couldn't understand how anyone aligned with Christ could also align themselves with or support the very idea of abortion (a.k.a killing, murder). After all Christ came to give life, not to prevent it from happening altogether! My friend goes on to say that one fellow "Christian" told her that Jesus himself is pro-choice!!! HA! My spirit almost jumped out my body when I heard this. What a gross and perverse interpretation of the Word! Well, of course Jesus is "pro-choice"! He doesn't force anyone to choose him, he leaves it up to every individual person. Anyone can choose to do right or wrong. (Let me interject a big, "DUH"!) And yes, I also believe, that everyone has the right to make their own choices. Fine. You can choose to do whatever you want and you don't have to choose Jesus. But let me add that once you have CHOSEN Jesus, then you are CHOOSING to follow Him and be more like Him. And guess what, Jesus chooses LIFE!!!!! So, if you say you are a "Christian", then shouldn't your choices be aligned with His??? Shouldn't you choose life as well and reject any notion against it? Am I missing something? Should you be supporting people who make abortion laws possible? You have got to be kidding me! I just couldn't believe it. I mean are you a Christian or not, yes or no? All or nothing. It's not that hard of a question.

One tidbit here; if you look "abortion" up in the dictionary (Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary), one of the definitions listed along with the technical ones, is: MONSTROSITY. And it's written just like that, in all caps!
